ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER/WRITER: Lorraine A. DarConte has been photographing and documenting people, places and events throughout the world for a number of decades.  Her work—both written and photographic—has appeared in numerous publications including, The Desert Leaf, Shutterbug, AAA Highroads, Tucson Bride & Groom, Arizona Bride, New York Newsday, Studio Photography & Design, Budget Traveler, Rangefinder, Nevada Magazine, and Equal Opportunity Publications (Hispanic Career World, African American Career World, Careers & the disABLED, Minority Engineer and Woman Engineer).


Lorraine also creates mixed-media/encaustic works that feature her original photography. As with much of her work, the focus is on women and women’s issues (see Mixed Media page).


Lorraine’s photographs have been exhibited in galleries throughout the country including, the International Center of Photography (NYC), Nassau County Museum of Fine Arts (New York), Tucson Museum of Fine Arts (Arizona), and the Washington Museum of Fine Arts (Maryland). In addition, her photographs are part of the corporate collections of the LAX Hilton Hotel, Alfred Angelo Bridal, Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation, The Desert Leaf, Twin Labs, and Polaroid.
